Rivian is set to launch a dedicated Apple Watch app, offering a range of features that will revolutionize how drivers interact with their electric vehicles. This app will enable users to lock and unlock their cars, adjust cabin temperature and windows, sound alarms, and set charging targets, all from the convenience of their wrist. The app is designed to work with older Rivian models from 2021 to 2024, as well as newer models from 2025 and later, which can already be unlocked via Apple's digital Car Key feature. The app's release is tied to version 3.9 of the iOS app, which is not yet available on the App Store. This development comes as no surprise, given Rivian's decision to prioritize its own interface over CarPlay, similar to its approach with Apple Music.
